Miu Miu seems to be experiencing a renaissance in its designs. The line has returned to some of its more classic looks, and has reintegrated the Asian influence that it used heavily in the late 90’s. This mini bucket bag is a great example of Miu Miu returning to what it does best.
This bucket bag is almost lantern-shaped. That is to say that the top of the bag is as structured as the bottom, which gives it a lot more shape than your average bucket. The top comes together in a drawstring, which opens fully to reveal the interior of the bag, which is generous enough to carry most of your daily necessities. The curvy handle is convenient for hand carrying, but unfortunately not long enough to comfortably wear over the shoulder.
The Asian-inspired black and red print features a combination of elephants, sphinxes, and paisley. It’s a busy print, for sure, but the small size makes it a statement making accent rather than a total distraction. The Argentinian lizard trim is a great complement to the style. It adds another level of exoticism and subtle texture to the overall style.
Let’s be real. This is not the kind of bag that every woman will choose. But for the women who do, the $895 price tag will seem pretty reasonable for such an extroverted piece.
