Push Pull Cambodia Uptown Tote

Push Pull Cambodia Uptown ToteIkat prints are right on trend, with modern labels like Lucky Brand and Tylie Malibu all replicating this tribal look. But why just accept the imitators when you can enjoy genuine ikat? Push Pull Cambodia brings this traditional Asian woven finish to the masses.

Push Pull Cambodia employs Khmer artisans to produce its authentic Ikat handbags. The firm is the brainchild of Daniel Flickinger, who became enamored with the craft when he visited Takeo Province, the Cambodia region known as the hub of Ikat, in 2008. It took just one year for Flickinger to create the company which would take the ancient weaving art to the Western world.

Through his fashion house, Flickinger offers long-term employment to his artisans and a better quality of life for their families. Each one of the workers at the Push Pull Cambodia weaving center takes care of a different phase of the Ikat process. From tying and dying to weaving and spinning, the entire process is done by hand according to Cambodian tradition.

Push Pull Cambodia creates a range of handbags, from small wallets and iPad cases to larger totes and travel bags. The company also creates a range of square and lumbar pillows. Shipping is all free to American residents. Shop for the Push Pull Cambodia collection through the label’s online store.
