Celebrities seem to get the best freebies. Of course, you can’t blame designers for wanting paparazzi-stalked starlets like Mary-Kate Olsen carrying their latest styles. Big names like Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang have started an even more enviable tradition of handing out their not-yet-available-to-the-humble-public items to these stylish celebs.
Judging from Julia Restoin-Roitfeld’s Facebook message to Alexander Wang recently, it sounds like Mary-Kate wasn’t the only one who was gifted: “Thank you for the bag!!!! I absolutely LOVE it and going to wear it right away!!! Big kiss!“
This unreleased Fall 2009 Alexander Wang handbag flaunted here on Mary-Kate’s impossibly small arm is enough for me to start saving pennies now for when it becomes available.
It reminds me just a little bit of the shape and texture of the YSL Y Satchel, but the gold studs on the bottom of this new Alexander Wang really make a statement. Maybe the socialistas and fashionable celebrities are constantly receiving hand-outs, but I think I’d appreciate a bag like this even more having to pay for it myself.
