Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter Advertisement Sees Models Step Back in Time

Posted on: Jun 26

Louis Vuitton has recruited a who's who of modeling for its fall/winter 2010/2011 advertising campaign.

Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova star in the vintage styled advertisements set in an old-fashion dressing room. Fashion photographer extraordinaire Stephen Meisel captured the images, which were shot inside a New York studio.

Louis Vuitton's director of communications Antoine Arnault says "The atmosphere was very fifties, very elegant."

It's so refreshing to see ladies of all ages looking so lovely, with their coiffed hairstyles and retro attire. But I'm less impressed by the execution. Honestly the ads appear cluttered to me. I'm finding it almost impossible to focus on the lovely leather LV handbags and the gorgeous girls carrying them with so many distractions in the background. It's enough to make a girl want to do a little belated spring cleaning! I'm sure any real 1950s women would have been all over the housekeeping before the final shots were taken!
