Anja Rubik struck a dramatic pose for Gucci’s pre-fall ads featuring the Jackie handbag collection, and a few images of the label’s official fall 09 campaign shows a continuation of the same vibe.
Though we’ve already seen a quick preview of Gucci’s fall handbags, now we get to see at least one of those impressive handbags on the arm of Raquel Zimmerman. The model shows off the new Galaxy shoulder bag smack-dab in the middle of this particular ad. Now that’s how I like to see a bag in a campaign.
The ads were styled by Vogue Paris fashion director Emmanuelle Alt, whose resume also includes fashion editor for Gucci’s spring/summer 09 campaign. This time around, however, Alt opted for a simple, black-and-white setting with lots of faces and plenty of fall fashion. It almost reminds me of Christy Turlington’s stark set for YSL’s fall ads.
The other models in the ad are Myf Shepherd, Gerhard Freidl, and Gucci veteran Anja Rubik.
