Actor Rick Yune is embroiled in a designer handbag sale scandal. The Fast and The Furious star is being sued by a British couple who says he scammed them out of more than $290, 000.
The Londoners say Yune offered to sell them ten authentic Hermes Birkin bags late last year. According to the lawsuit they sent Yune a $198, 000 deposit for the first eight bags, and intended to send an addition $95, 000 for the final two purses on their delivery.
The couple say they didn’t receive the bags while Yune claims they were delivered to one of the lovebirds’ employees. He’s suggested that perhaps that staff member pocketed the precious purses, and is refusing to reimburse the Brits their cash.
A representative for the actor says “he is one of the most honest people out there. It’s a shame someone is trying to tarnish his name and he has fallen victim to a scam.“
The matter is now in the hands of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, who’ll decide whether the couple is entitled to their money, and likely damages, or whether Yune’s story holds weight. It seems a case of he said, she said at the moment, so it’ll be interesting to see how this pans out.
