Paco Mena Quemya Clutch | Boring Gray Satin Evening Purse

Paco Mena Quemya Clutch

Paco Mena Quemya ClutchWe’ve been longtime admirers of Paco Mena’s original and affordable evening accessories. But it looks like the label was running short on inspiration when it created the Quemya Clutch.

The Quemya is nice enough, but it lacks that innovation we associate with the brand. We’ve seen its soft satiny base and kiss-lock closure so many times before, and the geometric motif on the frame does little to jazz things up. Even that dull gray color is uninspired, and sadly our only option. I suppose it’ll be easy to incorporate into an evening wardrobe, but it’s not likely to inspire envious stares.

The rest of the Quemya is just as we’d expect. It’s long but quite narrow, so it won’t hold much more than your average evening purse. It has an open pouch, but this teeny tiny patch seems more like a token gesture than an organizational aid. There’s also the prerequisite chain strap, a handy addition but not really anything more than what most modern clutch’s offer.

At $67 the Quemya is really affordable, but that’s not enough to convince me to part with my cash.
