I’ve been very impressed with Emma Watson’s grown-up campaigns for British fashion brand Burberry. So I was surprised to hear that the young Harry Potter actress has been dumped for the label’s next ad campaign.
The news comes as a shock to fashion fans and pop culture watchers alike, as her ads were so well received.
“Emma was a huge success. Everyone expected her to be used again,” a source told The Sun newspaper in Britain.
The industry is buzzing with rumors that Emma will be replaced with Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I think Emma is fantastic, especially now that she’s just revealed a chic cropped elfin do, but there’s no doubting that Rosie’s star is on the rise. She scored the high profile gig replacing Megan Fox in the next Transformers flick, and now it seems she’s ready to unseat another box office heavyweight.
I found Emma’s presence in the Burberry ads like a breath of fresh air. I guess I’ll have to wait and see whether Rosie, or some other hot young thing, can impress me as much!
