Over 300 people attended the christening of a Burberry store on Thursday night. The party celebrated the opening of Burberry’s new two-story flagship location in downtown Beijing.
With champagne flowing, guests were welcomed to the event by co-hosts Maggie Cheung, actress from Hong Kong, and Christopher Bailey, creative director of Burberry. The new store, which clocks in at nearly 5,000 square feet, is said to display the new global design concept created by Bailey himself. Even actor Jackie Chan made a quick appearance, apparently interested in some of the brand’s famous handbags.
The party meant more than just a store opening its doors, though. This large flagship location is a testament to Burberry’s continued success in a suffering luxury industry. Kudos to them for whatever they’re doing to stay afloat.
