Burberry is known for creating classic accessories that get passed down from generation to generation. The high quality of its pieces and traditional approach to design explain this. But, for the most part, Burberry isn’t as stuffy as all those check-print scarves might lead you to believe. The term “tote” might be a little misleading here. This beautiful supple leather, after all, is not the sort of thing you would throw your veggies in at the market. But it does have the simple rectangular shape and seaming of a tote. The addition of a drawstring is interesting. The only thing that concerns me about the Fielding is the slender shoulder strap. It looks good, but this is a generously sized bag. Perhaps too generously-sized for such a slim strap, I think, as the Fielding is the kind of bag that you want to fill to the top and take everywhere. But if you can contain your desire to take everything with you, this is a great looking bag that will be stylish for decades. Plus, at $550, it’s a great deal on a designer bag.
