Some of our favorite stars broke out the paint and glitter glue at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, all for a good cause. American Idol judge Paula Abdul, Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford, I Carly’s Jennette McCurdy, and skateboarder Tony Hawk were among the celebs who decorated casual messenger bags for a new charity auction.

You can bid on these one-of-a-kind bags at The Children’s Place eBay auction between April 14 and 24. All funds raised will benefit the organization’s Books for Kids program. It’s a great cause, which so far has provided over 5 million books and created 56 libraries to help children in low-income areas learn to read.

These arty messenger bags will make a real statement in the classroom, or an ideal gift for a star-struck family member or friend. What’s more, you’ll be making a real difference to the lives of needy kids.  What could be better than that?
