Anna Karenina

Anna KareninaBanana Republic is celebrating the release of the forthcoming Anna Karenina film with a Russian inspired fashion collection.

Banana Republic worked closely with Anna Karenina’s costume designer Jacqueline Durran on the cinematic capsule collection. The faux fur collared apparel items, pearl and crystal jewelry, and luxurious looking handbags channel the world created in the epic romance. Black and dove gray fabrics make the fashion line versatile and timeless.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Banana Republic inspired by popular culture. It’s not that long ago that we saw the retailer releasing a pair of Mad Men inspired fashion lines. Those retro ranges were great successes, which Banana Republic no doubt hopes to replicate with its latest collaborative line.

The Anna Karenina line is well timed to reach such dizzy heights. It hits Banana Republic stores and the retailer’s website in October, the time when we’re all wanting for fur adorned fashion and neutral colors.

It’s also priced well enough for us all to indulge. We can score a piece of jewelry for $29.50 and spend just $39.50 on a romantic blouse. The handbags are a bit pricier at $250, or we could really splurge and spend $325 on a Russian style coat.

Are you excited about Banana Republic’s latest line?
