Eco-conscious handbag designer Ashley Watson proves that green handbags don’t have to look like the rustic hippie tote you see at your local arts and crafts markets. The Vancouver based designer creates handbags that are every bit as sleek and sophisticated as their high-end design competitors thanks to her trademark use of recycled leather.
Of course, many eco-friendly fashionistas will feel that no purse crafted from leather can ever be classed as green, but I think any practice which minimizes a brand’s carbon footprint can’t be a bad thing.
