MBE

MBEAlice Temperley, designer and founder of Temperley London, has received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to the United Kingdom’s fashion industry.

The always fashionable Temperley wore a masculine looking black and white suit, topped off with a fedora, to today’s ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II presented the designer with the prestigious medal.

Temperley joins some of Britian’s best handbag designers; Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Luella Bartley, and Anya Hindmarch also hold MBEs. And her parents couldn’t be more proud!

We are incredibly proud of her,” Mrs Temperley told local publication, This is Somerset. “She deserves it because she’s worked very, very hard for the last ten years.

We are very chuffed,” added Temperley’s father. “It’s an extraordinary story, and very much one of a Somerset farmer’s daughter going to local schools and finding inspiration.

Congratulations to Alice Temperley on this exciting honor!
