VBH Ballerina Bag | Michelle Obama’s Clutch In Black Python

Posted on: Jun 2

Michelle Obama earned some major fashion cred with bag lovers when she wore the cobalt blue version of this Ballerina Bag by cult-favorite VBH with what is rumored to be an Alaia dress.

If you'd like to take a cue from Mrs. Obama and wear this clutch out on a date with your sweetie, you could opt for this version in black python. It would go best to a formal destination like the Obamas' - the ballet.

But unfortunately, a formal price tag goes with it. While Michelle's version is said to be $1,500 this python bag is $1,900. It's a lot to pay for something you'll only bring out on special occasions, but it will certainly make those occasions that much more stylish and memorable.

The bag has a very graceful shape that is echoed in the curve of the flap closure. The python shines and is sure to be seen (and envied) from across the room.

This is purely a lipstick and cash bag, though, don't go cramming a PDA in this baby.

Interesting blog. Relevantly, Michelle Obama is a member of Generation Jones, born 1954 to 1965, in-between Baby Boomers and Generation X. Google it and you’ll see that there is lots of big support from top national journalists and media outlets (e.g. The New York Times, Newsweek magazine, NBC, CNN, etc.) for the concept and name Generation Jones. .In fact, The Associated Press’ annual Trend Report chose the Rise of Generation Jones as the #1 trend of 2009.

There is a gap in the fashion industry; GenJones women’s fashion needs are largely not being met. Trend Agitator Debra Stevenson is a key fashion maven who has picked up on the GenJones opportunity within the fashion industry: http://theskylinestudios.typepad.com/debra_stevenson/tracking_generation_jones/

Here’s another look at GenJones in fashion context:

Here’s a page with a good overview of recent media interest in GenJones:

Given that GenJones is the largest U.S. generation, there is a huge lucrative opportunity to develop apparel, including purses, for GenJones women.

[...] With this little revelation, that $6,000 clutch she carried while strolling through a Russian forest makes a bit more sense. As does the $1500 little Python number she carried to the ballet. [...]

Millions of Americans (3.5 million and counting) have lost their jobs since the phony fake ’stimulus’ big-spending bill was passed by president Obama, and the First lady wastes precious money on overpriced garbage that cant even carry a PDA.

It’s patently clear that neither President Obama nor his wife have Clue One about fiscal responsibility.

BTW, born in 1964. do NOT call me generation “Jones”. That’s laaaame.
