Blogging website Tumblr has stepped into the land of retail with the launch of its new shopping destination, Of a Kind.
Online stores are a dime a dozen, but the concept behind this one is intriguing enough to separate it from the pack. The site carries exclusive, limited edition goodies from emerging designers. Each week a new designer is showcased; you can buy their pieces and read all about their life and what inspires them.
“The idea is to promote emerging fashion designers through e-commerce and editorial content,” explained Tumblr’s executive officer and co-founder Claire Mazur.
At this stage the website only features a handful of accessories, but it plans to expand to offer clothing in future. For now, I’ll just covet the whimsical charms of this Ernie Bunny Bag from Mandy Coon.
If something catches your eye, I wouldn’t hesitate. Each item is strictly limited, with between five and 50 pieces available, so they won’t stick around for long.
