Selma Blair is the latest celebrity to turn fashion designer. The actress is starting small, with just four styles available in her new SB by Selma Blair range.
While fans may crave more variety, I think it’s smart for new designers to avoid spreading themselves thinly. It’s much better to nail a few designs rather than produce many lackluster creations.
Blair says her leather and suede satchels have classic styling, and you don’t need the actress’ bulging bank account to own one.
“They can be worn for years, so it’s worth the few hundred bucks!” she proudly told Us Weekly.
In fact, some of the designs cost even less than that, with prices starting at $160.
Animal activists may not approve of Blair’s decision to use real leather and suede, but she’s doing her best to appease them with a charitable donation. A portion of all proceeds from SB by Selma Blair bag sales will benefit the Lange Foundation. This no-kill animal shelter is committed to saving a range of abandoned and homeless pets in Blair’s hometown of Los Angeles.
Blair might just be super woman, as she’s juggling her new job as handbag designer with a leading role in Charlie Sheen’s new sitcom Anger Management and the demands of motherhood. Who says women can’t do it all?
