Salvatore Ferragamo will launch its first online trunk show tomorrow, August 5. The virtual display will feature the prestige label’s latest ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, and of course, its handbags.
The online exhibition features a styling tool which allows customers to mix and match the collection’s pieces, to see how they work together. Shoppers can also share the looks via Twitter or Facebook to get feedback from their friends.
Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, the granddaughter of Ingrid Bergman and a longtime friend of the designer, will model the fall and winter collections for the show, just as she did in the label’s fall 2011 look book. She said she loved being part of that publication, as she has been a longtime admirer of the fashion house, and because its new season clothes are “gorgeous.”
“The materials are luxurious and the designs are fun and feminine with a hint of strong men’s tailoring. I found the collection to be glamorous and sexy but still chic and sophisticated!“
Fashion lovers will also get a sneak peek at new images from the fall advertising campaign, featuring Daria Werbowy and Mathias Lauridsen. Fashion photographer Mikael Jansson captured these new shots at Villa d’Este in Italy’s Lake Como region.
The online exhibition will give Salvatore Ferragamo fans a chance to pre-order goodies from the fall collection. As the show will be online for three weeks, there’s plenty of time to get your orders in. However sadly, the opportunity will only be extended to customers living in the United States. Thankfully we can all browse though! The Salvatore Ferragamo online trunk show will go live on the fashion house’s website tomorrow.
