New Yorkers will get the first bite at Roger Vivier’s ultra exclusive new Rendez-Vous capsule collection. There are just nine shoe styles and nine handbags in the line, produced in limited editions of only ten.
The rare collection sees the label’s creative director Bruno Frisoni meld traditional artisan work with natural materials like feathers, wood, and straw. Frisoni was also influenced by the works of colorful painters Jean Dubuffet and Gotthard Graubner, and the natural beauty of the animal kingdom.
“[The black-and-white Pilgrim clutch uses] a leaf of wood that is glued on fabric,” Frisoni told AOL’s fashion blog StyleList. “It’s so strong [and flexible] you can use it as a fabric. It’s amazing!“
I also particularly like the way conservative, earth shades are paired with flashes of bright color, and the whimsical animal shaped handbag clasps!
The collection was unveiled at New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue store on October 19. It will later travel to Roger Vivier’s New York Boutique before making stops in Miami and Los Angeles. After that it’s off to Europe and Asia, if there are any items left! After all, with just ten of each accessory made they’re not likely to last very long!
The price is likely to be the sticking point for many of us though. The exclusivity of this line at least doubles the value of the Roger Vivier goodies; the shoes are priced between $1900 and $4200, while the handbags cost between $5000 and a whopping $15, 000!
