Rimowa is going back to its roots with a limited edition version of the aluminum corrugated travel case it made famous in the 1950s. The brand was the first to create a trunk of this kind, and it hopes that it can excite customers all over again with the distinctive style.
“We particularly want to appeal to our customers who still remember the original cases, because their parents, perhaps, traveled with them on their first trips. Pure nostalgia!
“We have been constructing cases of corrugated aluminum for 60 years and would like to offer our loyal customers a really special treat with these models,” said Dieter Morszec, the grandson of Rimowa founder Paul Morszeck.
While the style channels vintage fashion, it enjoys the benefits of new technology. These aluminum cases promise to be lighter than ever before, which should please jet setters as they make their way through the airport on their next overseas jaunt!
Just 1950 of the limited edition suitcases are available in six different sizes, from small cases to larger travel bags. Look for them soon in Rimowa boutiques around the world.
