R&Em is set to hit the big time; the affordable handbag line will be exclusively available at Macy’s department stores from today.
The brand is the brainchild of acclaimed fashion blogger Keiko Lynn. She’s created a spring 2011 collection which nods to fashion trends without surrendering to them. You can expect to pay as little as $15 for the small accessories, and only a shade more than $100 for the largest.
To keep the prices down Lynn obviously can’t work with leather. But I love the array of affordable materials she’s opted for instead. There is faux leather, of course, but thankfully it’s not our only option. I often feel that faux leather seems like a disappointing substitute for the real thing, so I’m much more interested in the denim, raffia, and canvas purses.
New Yorkers can meet Keiko Lynn at Macy’s Herald Square store today. She’ll be on hand for the line’s launch at 5 pm. The rest of us will have to be content seeing the collection at Macy’s stores around America and the department chain’s website.
