Proenza Schouler created PS11 to be a hip alternative to their PS1 line. Frankly, I don’t see much difference in its aesthetic approach, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This PS11 Mini Clutch is a cool addition to the line.
This is sort of a classic Proenza Schouler design by now, but this season the label’s reduced the size and opened up its color palette. I always like its minimal approach, but honestly, this design is starting to look a little dated to me. The shape of the bag is simple and beautiful, but on this smaller size the hardware looks a little clunky instead of edgy, which is what I think Proenza Schouler was going for.
I’m not terribly crazy about the color of the bag, either. It’s sort of a muted teal, but it comes off as dull rather than restrained. The lightly textured leather is versatile and durable, and the size of the bag is convenient. Other than that, I don’t really see this PS11 Mini Clutch as a major standout.
$1,675 seems like highway robbery for a petite cross body bag with no spectacular design features. You can get a much cooler PS1 bag for a bit more, and you’d enjoy a lot more for your money.
