Summery linen and exotic crocodile come together with style in this Magazine Tote from Nancy Gonzalez.
The last time we saw Nancy Gonzalez adding linen to her favorite crocodile skin I was less than impressed. The fabrics didn’t mesh nearly as well as they do here. The mosaic style cut-out design is inspired, as it allows the crocodile to frame the earthy material underneath.
I love the gentle contrast between the golden croc and natural toned linen. The metallic reptile skin is luxurious, but as it’s used sparingly it doesn’t feel too gaudy. In fact, it’s much more reserved than the black and natural toned version! This one’s a little bold for my taste, although I appreciate that Nancy Gonzalez has offered two such distinct looks.
What you see is really what you get here. While its exterior is intricate, inside its very basic without a closure or internal pockets. Its handles are also too short to be truly practical.
If you crave functionality you’ll be disappointed, especially for $2950. But if looks matter most you’ll happily note that it costs less than Nancy Gonzalez’s all-crocodile creations!
