A few months ago, I reviewed another bag in Miu Miu’s turn lock line that was very similar to this one, and I hated it. Luckily, Miu Miu seems to have fixed some of the less appealing details in this smaller clutch version of the bag.
First of all, the color of this bag is way more interesting than previous versions. The bright pop of the orange will stand out against almost any outfit, especially in ultra high gloss patent leather. The giant turnlock clasp gives this bag a retro-futuristic look that is totally mod.
The shape of the clutch is pretty standard, which makes the tangerine color makes sense, as its not fighting with the design for attention. The flap-front design is minimal and practical. The side edges fasten closed with snaps at the inner seams to keep all your stuff from falling out of the almost completely open top.
This turnlock clutch is priced at $950, which seems imminently reasonable when you compare it to the shoulder bag version, which is about $400 more and only slightly bigger. Good job, Miu Miu, at making this turn lock design palatable and affordable.
