Iconic toy brand Mattel is branching into the accessories market with some fun new handbags featuring its popular characters.
Everyone’s favorite doll Barbie will star in a new collection of handbags designed with the help of Harveys. We can expect seatbelts and plenty of pink in these purses for young fashionistas. They’ll be available through Harveys, department stores, and specialty boutiques next year.
Older girls will prefer the Monster High bags designed in collaboration with Accessory Innovations. Monster High is Mattel’s latest powerhouse, a franchise which sends the teenage children of world famous monsters to high school. The series is targeted at tweens and teens, so we should see a more sophisticated handbag range here. The line, which will feature clutches, totes, messengers, and cross body bags, will hit stores this fall.
Boys aren’t forgotten either with the release of Hot Wheels bags and backpacks. The car themed accessories sound like lots of fun, with motion-patented technology and real working lights. They’ll also be in stores this fall.
