If all the blacks and greys of winter are getting you down, the radiant limonetta yellow of the Linea Pelle Lola is surely the antidote. Seen on everyone from Hayden Panettiere to Katherine Heigl, the Lola is a light, bright, sure-fire crowd-pleaser.
The bright color and softly rounded shaping of the bag is reminiscent of some of the recent Marc Jacobs unveilings, but at a much more reasonable price point (less than $500). You won’t make a sacrifice for style or quality with Linea Pelle, either. The line is known for their exquisite craftsmanship, and the big, slouchy Lola is made of premium washed South American leather, and embellished with sold brass hardware.
I love the way the studded hardware sets off the golden undertones of the limonetta, and while I am not always a fan of large hardware, I think the trigger style closure on the Lola is beautifully designed and very well-placed. The braided strap reminds me of the strap on Fendi’s iconic Spy Bag, and looks lovely atop this slouchier, more bohemian alternative.
The flap and strap top closure is the perfect structured detail to balance out the roundness of the Lola, which might look a little sloppy without it. I also love the adjustable dual side pockets with magnetic closures. They add interest to the sides of the bag with a utilitarian flourish.
The Lola comes in a wide variety of colors, so if the yellow is a little too, well, yellow, for you, you can opt for a more neutral tone, but personally, I think it would add an amazing burst of color to your favorite little black dress or tight black jeans. Drawing from so many fashionable favorites, the Lola combines retro brights and quality craftmanship with the big bag trend of today in a totally wearable way.
