Oh, Lanvin, you make me want to say ooh la la, or at least Oulouette. This clutch is one of my favorite bags of the season, so forgive me if I start to swoon.
I am not a fan of metallic leather. It’s just so ostentatious. But everything else about the Sac Oulouette is so restrained that the leather just seems perfect. Plus, I love the crackled texture and the way it bends the light. The shiny gold hardware gives the slightest bit of textural contrast.
Honestly, for such a shiny bag, the Sac Oulouette comes off as pretty dainty. The simple fold over envelope style is spot on and the delicate shoulder strap is the perfect counterbalance. I love the small, but intricate, front clasp and the generally subdued glamour of the bag.
$690 is a pretty reasonable price to pay for a bit of frippery that will transcend the trends and quickly become an evening wear staple. I say go for it.
