Laga Handbags is planning to release a limited edition Lady Gaga purse, and it wants your help. The fashion house, which utilizes the work of Indonesian tsunami survivors, is inviting fans to submit their Gaga-inspired designs.
“When we were looking to create a 2011 Limited Edition piece, we wanted a muse that would speak to the strength and courage of the hardworking women who work with us in Indonesia. Lady Gaga was the perfect fit because she embodies the empowerment and determination that the survivors we employ in Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami possess and additionally our supportive customers who shop with us,” explained Laga founder Louise van Broekhuizen.
Budding designers are encouraged to use the Laga Handbags templates provided on the company’s website as a base, and then go crazy with the Gaga-fication. Perhaps you might like to incorporate some raw meat or an enormous egg into your design? Or perhaps not!
The winner will receive a copy of the finished handbag and an iTunes gift card, just the thing for purchasing Lady Gaga tunes. Lady Gaga will also receive a copy of the Laga Handbag she inspired. Can you imagine Gaga carrying a purse you created? Then get your entry in before March 13 via Laga Handbags’ website or its Facebook page. The winning design will be unveiled on March 17. I can’t wait to see what the finished bag looks like!
