Kenneth Cole has been working hard since he started his fashion label in 1982. The designer is now planning to focus on specific areas of developing the brand and bring in a new creative mind to join the team.
Former Hugo Boss employee, Ingo Wilts, is stepping in to fill the new creative director position. Wilts arrives with years of experience in the design world and new ideas for expanding the brand. As the new director will report directly to the label’s namesake, it’s too to know that Cole has faith in what Wilts brings to the table.
“He is very creative, but he also understands the intricacies and the realities of the business,” Cole told WWDof Wilts. “He understands womenswear, menswear and accessories. Ingo has successfully helped navigate the growth of the Hugo Boss business over the last 10 years, globally and effectively.”
The incoming creative director will begin his new role with Kenneth Cole this August. Cole himself will continue a vital presence in the company as he continues as chairman and chief creative officer.
