Some of our favorite handbag designers are helping AnOther Magazine celebrate its 10th birthday with cake! Fashion A-listers including Christian Louboutin, Frida Giannini of Gucci, and Alber Elbaz of Lanvin will design “ultimate birthday cakes” for the fashion and culture mag.
Editor Jefferson Hack assembled the impressively stylish lineup for the project, which he’s calling “Eat the Designers.” I’m not sure whether any of the creative minds are used to working with frosting and sugar, but I’m expecting to see some spectacular looking desserts.
“We want this project to inspire our readers and the public with the insane possibilities of what can be achieved at the highest level in bringing fashion and food together,” Hack said in a statement.
Most of us will have to drool at the finished products on the magazine pages, but Britons are a bit luckier. The cakes will be displayed at London’s Selfridges Concept Store from February 17 to 22. Just make sure you’ve eaten before you arrive to see the exhibition; I predict these confections will make you a bit peckish!
