You’ve seen the advertisement, now here’s the video. Gucci has released this colorful clip showcasing its 2009 spring/summer collection.
Just like the print commercial, it stars Lily Donaldson, Abbey Lee, and Natasha Poly as Amazon women and Jonatan Frenk as a polished and poised Robinson Crusoe. It’s also got Dutch superstar photographs Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin behind the lens.
This video gives us a closer look at the new Gucci handbags, which include a luscious red tassled hobo and a to-die-for slouchy ostrich leather bag. The sophisticated collection of man bags might even convince the love of your life to carry one.
These purses have so much personality, but it’s a shame I can’t say the same thing for the models. Sure they’re attractive specimens, but it’s all surface with little substance. Their vacant expressions and slow, languorous movements might be sexy to some, but I think they’re just snoozeworthy. I understand wanting the fashions to shine, but a handbag should never have more life in it than a human being!
