Designers like Stella McCartney and Matt & Nat can always be counted on for eco-friendly handbags, but generally green-conscious fashion fans have to wade through the offerings on shopping websites to find the ones which meet our ethical standards. New online retailer LovingEco looks to make things a bit easier when it officially launches on June 6.
LovingEco president Melinda Moore calls the website a “passion project,” which she hopes will help fashion fans become more conscious consumers. All the apparel, handbags, and accessories on the site are eco-friendly and made under fair trade conditions. There are also green beauty products, and goodies for women, babies, and children. Sorry men; maybe the website will expand to offer items for you in the future!
LovingEco isn’t only environmentally friendly; it’s also altruistic. Moore will donate 3% of the net proceeds generated to socially and environmentally concerned charities including Farm Sanctuary, Stand Up to Cancer, and Village Empowerment.
Don’t wait until the June 6 launch to check out this green fashion site though.
