While most high-end designers are looking to summer and sunshine, smaller handbag designers know that the chill of winter weather isn’t leaving us any time soon.
One such brand is Felted 4 Ewe, a unique label founded by New Hampshire’s Betsy McDermott, and her daughters-in-law, Sandy and Kara.
The trio uses traditional knitting and felting techniques to create its handcrafted one-of-a-kind purses.
“My mother-in-law uses more traditional patterns and colors; my sister-in-law uses more funky textures and colors. I am a little traditional and then incorporate a little ‘Pow.’ I like colors to be in harmony and I like them to work together,” explains Sandy McDermott of their unique design philosophies.
Felted 4 Ewe’s back-to-basics approach has seen its bags gain a loyal following amongst New Hampshire locals and online fans. This year the label aims to introduce more colors, shapes, and accents into its range.
Felted 4 Ewe bags cost between $30 for a simple small purse and $100 for extra large and more elaborate designs.
