Fashion is evolving, with more designers moving away from traditional leather and exotic skins and embracing eco-friendly alternatives. Evolve45 is one accessories label that embodies that shift towards sustainability.
The fashion house is the brainchild of Sara Marston, the daughter of a self-taught furniture designer and craftsman. She originally took a different path and began working as an entertainment lawyer before her own passion for design became too strong to ignore.
She established her company in the early days of the eco-movement, at a time when stylish sustainable options were virtually unheard of. Seeing a gap in the marketplace, she put pen to paper and began to design handbags that are as good looking as they are green.
Most Evolve45 bags are crafted from vegetable tanned Italian leather. Of course many animal activists believe any bag made from genuine leather cannot truly be considered green, so it’s exciting to see she also offers vegan accessories, which are also made from environmentally friendly responsible fabrics. Both alternatives are fully lined with organic cotton for the final green touch.
Evolve45’s current fall/winter collection is very small. There are just three bags available: the Urban Nature tote, Bare Mary satchel, and Pure New York clutch. However I always value quality over quantity. By focusing on just a few designs, Marston has ensured each one is memorable.
