Black Rose Bags can see the beauty in the materials the rest of us discard.
This eco-friendly label combines the canvas it finds in an awning company dumpster with key clips, buckles, and zips donated by its local bike store, the Bike Cave Collective. It takes these surplus materials and turns them into stylish cycling bags.
“We abhor our cultures wastefulness and seek to make our society a little less wasteful and a little nicer for cyclists everywhere,” Greg from Black Rose Bags told Treehugger.
Greg and the other staff members of Black Rose Bags are all bike enthusiasts, so they know exactly what cyclists need. They all feature stabilizer straps to keep the bag secure while you’re riding, waterproof linings, and quick-release buckles. However if you’ve got something special in mind they’re happy to customize a bag for you.
Black Rose Bags are available online from $99 through the label’s Etsy store.
