After years selling his purses in department stores like Macy’s, Brazilian handbag designer Diego Rocha has opened the doors of his first boutique.
Now you can buy Diego Rocha handbags on his own turf at 1050 North State Street on Chicago’s Gold Coast. The store showcases Rocha’s luxurious bags which are all handcrafted from high-quality animal skins.
It’s unusual for a handbag designer to choose Chicago as the location of his flagship store over New York or Los Angeles, but Rocha said he was led for his love of the city and the people who live there.
“I have family here and I’ve always loved Chicago because it’s more laid back than New York,” he explained to HuffPost Chicago. “I’m very happy here and want to be here a while.“
