Chloe has this amazing way of combining ladylike looks with a laid back design sensibility that is totally fashion forward. Season after season, it impresses with its ability to make new looks that are still, somehow, timeless. This Vivian tote is a beautiful example of some of its most interesting work.
I love the double red leathers on the Vivian. They’re just different enough to add a bit of patchworky contrast, but close enough in tone to stay sensible. The leathers aren’t just dual in tone, either. One is cow leather while the other is lamb, which creates a subtle contrast. This type of colorblocking automatically brings to mind some of the best mod styles of the 60s, but redone for a more modern girl.
The shape of the Vivian is also vintage-inspired. The geometric look is accented by the cool rectangular cutout handle. Just in case that’s not practical enough for you, though, Chloe’s included two delicately slim shoulder straps. They’re a little wispy for the size of the bag, but they balance out the style beautifully.
If you’re into eye-catching mod looks you basically can’t go wrong with the Vivian. Except that at $1,995, the price is a little recession-unfriendly.
