Chak Chel combines this fabric with modern organic cotton and repurposed materials. Each is dyed using traditional eco-friendly techniques, then left in its raw state to minimize resources and environmental damage.
“As we grow, our goal is to work with communities to preserve these techniques and contribute to the preservation of the environment. It is our choice to be active in the reduction of waste and clogging in today’s world,” says Yenifer Lam, co-founder of Chak Chel.
The chances of someone else carrying your Chak Chel bag are pretty slim, as just 50 of each style are made. You can guarantee yours is an original too, as each is sold with a certificate of authenticity and papers detailing the purse’s history.
The brand’s next collection promises to be something very special, with Chak Chel inspired by the vivid colors of South America. The label will collaborate with two Brazilian artists on the line which celebrates all the color of Carnival.
