The You Can’t Fake Fashion campaign spearheaded by eBay and the Council of Fashion Designers of America was such a success last year, the organizations are doing it all again.
This time the collection has grown from 50 to 75 different designer created totes all bearing the You Can’t Fake Fashion slogan. Betsey Johnson, Ralph Lauren, The Row, Tory Burch, and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg are amongst the big names contributing designs to this year’s drive. A selection of the customized totes made their debut at New York Fashion Week.
There are also four different styles of standard totes for anyone who can’t quite afford the designer originals. The standard totes cost just $45, while the customized designer versions are $200. That’s a lot to spend on a canvas tote, but it may be the closest some recessionistas get to owning a piece of their favorite fashion house. And besides, all money raised will help the CFDA Foundation fight counterfeiting, so perhaps we should just look at our purchases as charitable donations!
The new You Can’t Fake Fashion range hits eBay’s Fashion Vault on March 20. If last year is any indication these bags will sell out, so I’d log on quickly if you hope to secure one!
