Animal lovers regularly choose vegan-friendly leather purses over exotic skinned, fur, and authentic leather alternatives. But new handbag label Calico Dragon takes the animal-friendly message one step further.
The range of large and small totes feature artistic prints and political messages. They urge people think of our animal friends by rejecting fur fashions, boycotting circus cruelty, adopting a vegan lifestyle, and spaying and neutering their pets.
“Maybe one person won’t buy that new fur coat because she read someone’s purse and it made her really think about that fur and where it came from. Maybe a handful of people will boycott the circus when it comes through town, simply because they walked past our Elephant purse in a local boutique,” Calico Dragon reps said in a statement.
A portion of profits from the bags also reach animal charities including The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee and The Animals Asia Foundation.
