Aging sex symbol Brigitte Bardot has waged war on French First Lady Carla Bruni, and it seems a humble handbag is behind the feud.
Bardot is furious because she received no thank you note when she gifted Bruni with one of the limited edition Lancel handbags from her self-titled BB collection. She made her views clear in a recent interview with French glossy, France Dimanche.
“I have received no thank you note whatsoever from Carla Bruni, who is as beautiful as she is badly brought-up,” Bardot said.
Bardot is also incensed because Bruni, an animal rights activist, has not encouraged her husband, president Nicholas Sarkozy, to ban the sport of bull fighting.
“My anger is only just starting!” Bardot continued. “But I’m like a pit bull – when I start to bite someone I don’t let go easily.“
I don’t doubt that for a second. Bruni’s camp has refused to respond to Bardot’s fighting words, but I don’t think this will be the last we’ll hear of this feud!
