Simon Cowell Gifts Alexandra Burke with Chanel Handbag for 21st Birthday

It pays to have friends in high places, and they don't come much bigger than Simon Cowell. The X Factor judge recently flexed his considerable influence to get a Chanel handbag for last year's winner, Alexandra Burke.

Simon wasn’t deterred by the demand for the hard to get bag. He made a few calls, schmoozed a little, and had the prized handbag in time for Alexandra's 21st.

"Simon knew Alex had admired this bag, and so pulled out all the stops to get it for her. Alex was completely over the moon," an insider explained.

Well she's hardly going to be disappointed with a Chanel purse now, is she?

Simon wasn't the only one lavishing extravagant gifts on the reality TV queen. Alexandra's mentor, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, also went all out for the big day. She presented her charge with another Chanel handbag and a luxury trip to the Constance Lemuria resort in the Seychelles. Australian judge Dannii Minogue also indulged Alexandra's purse fetish, gifting her with a new Tabitha bag.
