See By Chloe is killing me, lately. I really don’t know what’s going on with the line, but it’s kind of upsetting me. This Rodas clutch is very close to being cool but misses the mark enough to be ugly.
I actually really love the tan leather on this clutch. It’s a really unusual color choice for evening, but it works really well. Plus, the gently weathered texture makes the bag a little more casual and cool. The asymmetrical grosgrain ribbon detail is a really nice touch, but the rhinestone bow is atrocious.
The funny thing is that it’s really not a bad idea, and the sparkles go well with the rest of the style, but the rhinestones are just too big. They just look cheesy and tacky and totally not in good taste. The flap front style is cool and easy to carry, but it’s not enough to distract from the terrible details.
At $395, this Rodas clutch would be a steal if it were more interesting, but any cost might be too high for this particular design.
