Salvatore Ferragamo will open the doors to its new flagship store in Shanghai late next month. At 680 meters squared, it will be the brand's largest store in the Asia-Pacific region.

The boutique will carry all the usual Ferragamo products and the only Creation Corner in China. This exclusive section will sell the brand's quirky museum line known as the Creations collection.

Salvatore Ferragmo will release a limited edition handbag, available exclusively at the Shanghai store, to commemorate its opening.

While bigger isn't always better, Salvatore Ferragamo might just steal Coach's thunder next month. Both designers are opening flagship stores in Shanghai at roughly the same time, but Ferragamo's boutique dwarfs Coach's 650 meter square space. The designers will need to compete for the loyalty of Shanghai's bagistas, but for shoppers the choice of new luxury players can only be a good thing.
