Michael Stars Ruched Clutch Structurally interesting bags don't often pop up for less than $100, so it was very nice to come across this Michael Stars clutch.

There are many things about this purse that make it worth paying attention to. First there is that ruched and gathered fabric exterior. Kind of resembling a flower yet also resembling an artistic and abstract pattern, it adds interest to what would otherwise be a rather dull grayish khaki fabric. Then there is the wooden handle; it's not unique, but certainly very good looking in contrast with that rough canvas.

As well as being fashionable, the canvas of this wooden framed clutch makes it more than suitable for summer. That is, if summer ever deigns to even suggest that it may, one day, arrive. The flip side, of course, is that the fabric probably won't stand up to rain and miserable conditions as much as a plastic or leather counterpart would.

Michael Stars has clearly created something gorgeous with this ruched purse. Now we just have to wait for the right season!
