Although an eye-catching bag is nothing new for a Marc Jacobs collection, the metallic quilted leather Stam purse takes the cake for me. Inspired by Canadian model Jessica Stam, this designer bag is as stunning as its namesake.
The Stam handbag is available in a variety of colors including fuschia, plum, and bright green. The silver metallic, however, is a standout and would probably be more versatile for a gal’s closet than lime green. The silver leather has a slight bronze tone that keeps it from being too shiny and loud.
This Marc Jacobs is not for someone who wants to blend into a crowd, though. Expect to receive many glances when you carry this one around. The quilted leather looks impeccable and classic. Gold-colored hardware is a nice contrast to the bold silver. The chunky gold chain is one option for carrying the Stam handbag; you can also use the double handles, if you so choose.
You won’t find any blatant branding on the Stam. Small details carry the designer’s name including one of the knobs on the kiss-lock clasp, the metal zipper pull, and the signature logo stamped on the interior. With its quilted leather and chunky gold chain handle, the Stam handbag reminds me just a bit of a Chanel purse. Fortunately, Marc Jacobs offers this one for considerably less as it retails under $2000.
