Louis Vuitton Creates Cake Trunk for Selfridges’ Birthday Celebrations

Louis Vuitton has gifted British department store Selfridges with a very special birthday surprise. It's this cake trunk, a miniature version of their legendary trunk designed especially for transporting birthday cake.

The unique one-of-a-kind piece was handmade in Louis Vuitton's Asnieres factory. The exterior sports the famous brown on tan Louis Vuitton logo, while the interior is lined in yellow fabric as a tribute to the high-end department store.

The trunk was tailor-made to carry a cake and six table settings, including spoons, cutlery, and an all-important cake cutter.

The cake trunk will be displayed in Selfridges' Personal Shopping section until May 15. After that it will be auctioned off to raise funds for a children's cancer charity.

Wouldn't this be the perfect piece to complete a special birthday party? I know it'll fetch well beyond what mere mortals can afford to pay, but at least the funds will go somewhere worthwhile rather than lining Louis Vuitton's coffers!
