Dancing with the Stars professional Karina Smirnoff is cleaning out her closet for a good cause. The ballroom dancer has listed many designer apparel items and accessories through new shopping site HipSwap.com. Proceeds from the sale will benefit one of her favorite charities, AIM.
I can't imagine how Smirnoff can bear to part with many of these items, but her generosity means we can enjoy some great bargains. She's selling a Fendi Spy bag for $550, Mark Nason cowboy boots for $250, and one of her famous ball gowns for $160.
Smirnoff says she hopes shoppers will enjoy her treasures and "make memories with them," although she concedes that not all the pieces will appeal to everybody.
"Dancing with the Stars is not known for wearing a lot of clothing," she quipped.
No doubt AIM, which stands for Alternative Intervention Models, hopes fashion fans spend up big on Smirnoff's stylish items. The charity works tirelessly to bring arts initiatives to children from poor families. Smirnoff has a long association with the non-profit organization. For several years she's led dance classes and even participated in AIM performances alongside the charity's young charges.
Karina Smirnoff's items are selling fast, so why not log on to HipSwap.com, bag a bargain, and help the charity at the same time?
