It looks like there are many kinds of candy wrappers to satisfy everyone's preferences, and there are fun colors to boot!

This may possibly be the only saddle bag any woman wants. It's great for showing off a western flair and the perfect bag for true cowgirls. It also looks durable, which is definitely a plus. Ashley M Plaid Clock Bag | Red Tartan Tote Purse

There's no excuse for running late for your appointments when you carry this Ashley M Plaid Clock Bag.

We expect quirky novelty bags from Ashley M, but this one is a little more stylish than many of the brand's creations. Red plaid reminds us of Burberry and other preppy, more luxurious labels. Although I doubt those high-end designers would cover their handbags in tacky glass stones or a large clock face!

The tartan print is reminiscent of those designer brands, but this isn't trying to be a high-end fashion item. It just wants to have fun. The battery-operated clock is surrounded by on-trend studs and glass stone accents. Glossy black patent trim completes this playful purse.

The lining is a little cheap and nasty, but that's the only thing I can fault inside. It's a great size – not too big or too small – and there are zip and slip pockets in the walls to keep your smaller items organized.

This unique Ashley M purse is cheaper than most watches at $30.

Timmy Woods does occasionally produce some genius bags. Lovingly constructed out of luxury materials, they are glossy and unusual and more like art than a handbag.

When not designing these purses, however, Timmy Woods has a strange fondness for novelty bags. With bags like this little Kris Kingle Christmas purse it is apparent that she may well be completely and utterly bonkers!

Don't get me wrong; the purse is gently amusing and definitely a conversation starter. I just struggle to see how anyone could carry this around with a shred of seriousness, unless they were one of the few people that are so incredibly cool and kitsch that they can happily exist in a different dimension of taste to the rest of us.

That said, with Christmas coming, the time for tacky bags and strange political statements is upon us, and if you want a gold hatted Santa Claus wearing cute miniature glasses then this Timmy Woods purse may be the only one available!

What more can I say?! This will spread Christmas cheer and insanity without doubt!

Bottega Veneta Ladybug Coin Purse | Animal Shaped Brown Deerskin Clutch

Bottega Veneta is a brand which tends to take fashion seriously. But here with this ladybug shaped coin purse, the Italian label shows it has a lighter side.

The brand's signature intrecciato woven leather is passed over in favor of soft brown deerskin. It may not be instantly recognizable, but this hide is ultra luxurious. The ladybug's spots are stamped into the leather, while careful cutting and complementary stitching creates its wings. The frame closure and engraved metal clasp add a classic vintage touch to this fun design.

It's called a coin purse, so don't expect this ladybug to hold much more than loose change and a couple of essential cards. The suede lined interior adds a little class to the fairly basic interior.

It might seem like a novelty at first, but by keeping the colors neutral Bottega Veneta has created a quirky purse with some serious staying power.

The Jesse B. Collection Bermuda Bag | Cute Frame Handbag with Bridget Reversible Cover

This reversible handbag from The Jesse B. Collection gives you two looks in one!

Five white buttons secure the reversible cover to the frame-style bag. One side features this chic red and white houndstooth print. The other is bright red wool, perfect for the cooler weather to come this year!

The removable cover idea is an interesting take on the reversible bag trend. By reversing only the cover, rather than turning the entire bag inside out, the interior can be a functional carrying space. It's just a shame that The Jesse B. Collection didn't exploit that. The satiny white lining is lovely, but bound to show lipstick stains and pen marks before long. There are no pockets either. While a space of this size doesn't really need organizational aids, a cell phone slip would have been handy.

Also impractical are those wooden handles. Again, they're gorgeous, but despite their smooth finish they won’t be comfortable if you're on the go. A shoulder strap may not have had the same mod appeal, but it would have been much more convenient.

This Jesse B. Collection Bermuda bag is unique, making it a real conversation starter. But I see it as more of a novelty than an everyday companion.

The floral finish adds interest, while bold colors like this naranja orange ensure it doesn't look too girly. The grosgrain lining peeks through the flowers, making sure your small essentials don't slip through the petals.

The open top design makes it easy to retrieve your ringing cell phone from the slip pocket, but it also makes me worry about security. Without a platform base to help it stand up, your goodies are bound to spill when you set this purse down.

The floral finish of this Stuart Weitzman handbag might make you long for spring, but its rich earthy hues are right on trend for the fall season. $598 does seem a little pricy for such a novelty design, but if you're quick you can snag it on Endless for roughly half the price.

The whimsical sense of humor of Italian brand Fontanelli is on show with this cute Ladybug bag.

There's certainly no mistaking the brand's inspiration here. The bag's black leather finish contrasts with a bold red spotted wing-like flap. It's quite a convincing attempt to recreate the form of the beloved beetle! But it's a little sad that once you sling the purse over your shoulder, your bug looks like she's dead! At least the flat platform base revives her once you set the bag down!

But this is no mere novelty purse. Fontanelli is known for its high quality accessories, and the Ladybug Bag is no exception. The finish is superior polished Italian leather. A smooth zip opens to reveal a generous lined interior, complete with a handy zippered pocket. I could use a few more pouches for my gadgets, but Fontanelli prefers a clean, uncluttered design.

If the red and black combo is a little obvious for you, don't fret. The same bag is also available in a range of single color options.

Latico Vyntage Finger Hole Clutch | Cute Leather Novelty Red Purse

If you don't take your fashions too seriously, you'll love the novelty look of this Finger Hole clutch from Latico.

The most noticeable feature, and the greatest selling point, is the five holes that give the clutch its name. They’re styled to make hand-held carrying a little simpler, but they're not entirely effective. Unless your fingers are just right, they're not going to fit as easily as Latico imagined. Thankfully the clutch also comes with a shoulder strap to help sausage-fingered fashionistas like myself!

It's also a good thing that those holes aren't the clutches only selling point. Without them the purse may not have been so distinctive, but its retro styling would still have impressed. The trapezoidal shape and ruby red leather are head turners in their own rights. But the real surprise comes inside.

While most clutches offer only skin deep beauty, this packs plenty into the slim interior space. There are three pockets – one zippered and two slip – plus four credit card slots. That may not be enough to handle a trip to the mall, but it should be sufficient for margaritas with the girls!

This red purse would look so cute paired with matching red lipstick and a flared retro dress, but it's not the only option. Conservative chicks aren't forgotten, with the Finger Hole Clutch also available in black, white, and olive green.

See by Chloe Reversible Tote | Blue Leather & Cotton Print Handbag

Reversible totes are great. You get more for your money by enjoying two handbag styles for the price of one. But usually it's just a change of color or print and only available in cotton or canvas bags.

Not so with this See by Chloe Leather/Cotton Reversible Tote! These are really two completely different bags.

The blue leather tote is very sensible and classic with clean lines and minimal detail. The blue leather side features one flap pocket with a geometric triple seam detail. It would make a great unexpected neutral in your wardrobe.

But the cotton side is anything but neutral! The loud, fun artistic floral print pops in red, blue, orange, purple and more. The cotton exterior gives it a more rounded, less structured shape. What was an interior zip pocket when the leather was the exterior becomes an exposed zipper pocket in blue trim on the cotton.

I would question how practical it is to have a leather interior for a bag. What if a pen explodes or lipstick opens? There's also the fear that the bag wouldn't fall exactly the same on either side once it has been reversed. So, consider these possible drawbacks before falling for the novelty aspects of this tote.
