Yves Saint Laurent's latest "It" bag, the Roady, shot to fame on the arms of glamorous celebs like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, and Leighton Meester. Now the in-demand purse will get a personalized makeover for shoppers in America's fashion capitals, Los Angeles and New York City.

The Roady already comes in a variety of shapes and colors, including black nappa and vibrant red and blue leathers. But Yves Saint Laurent artesan furriers will further customize the bags this month. Roady lovers can jazz up the handles with colored exotic skins, including ostrich, crocodile, and lizard. The lizard is the bargain option at $225, the ostrich will cost $385, and the crocodile clocks in at $515. To further add value, Yves Saint Laurent staff will also embroider your initials inside your Roady for nix.

The customized Roady bags are available in YSL's Los Angeles and New York boutiques from November 19 to December 1.

We've seen the edgy details make a splash on the catwalk, and grace the gossip mags thanks to stylish stars like Rihanna and Beyonce. Whether they're traditional round studs or today's modern pyramid studs, the accents add a little rock star attitude to any ensemble.

As with most fashion trends though, remember that a little goes a long way. I suggest selecting just one studded accessory as a statement piece, rather than wearing a mass of metal. I also recommend resisting the temptation to pair this trend with the current taste for python. Snakeskin and studs together can only appear overdone. Instead choose black or rich jewel tones for the coolest punk-chic look.

Devi Kroell might have a Target diffusion line under her belt, but her newest venture is a far cry from her affordable line of handbags featured in the budget-conscious store. This New York-based designer is moving up in the retail world ... specifically to a new flagship boutique in Manhattan's prestigious Upper East Side.

Since her first collection debuted in 2004, Kroell has been gaining momentum as well as more than a handful of celebrity fans. Fashionistas like Ashley Olsen, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna have carried her luxurious designs, and even Gossip Girl has caught the Kroell fever.

The award-winning designer has earned her spot on New York City's Madison Avenue, and the real estate couldn't be more impressive. Exotic skin handbags, jeweled clutches, gorgeous shoes, and other items are impeccably displayed in the two-story flagship store.

"I wanted to create an airy, secluded space where shoppers could have a serene experience and take in the pieces at their own pace," the designer says.

Hopefully this is one fashion brand whose sales and success will continue to rise rather than dip into dangerous territory necessitating layoffs and store closings. Be sure to check out the new boutique at 717 Madison Avenue next time you're in the Big Apple.

Hobo International accessories tend to be smart, but just a little boring. This Solano breaks the mold, combining sophistication and style.

Tiny pleats at the top of the bag create diamond shapes, providing a unique alternative to traditional quilting. There's texture here, but it's not predictable. These tight pleats give way to softer, subtler folds down the tote's body. They make the luxurious goat leather appear even more tantalizing and tactile. It's a relaxed look, but one that wouldn't look out of place in most offices or on a dinner date.

Hobo International bags are always practical, and the Solano is no exception. A secure zippered compartment is complemented by a whopping four multifunctional slips. Two pen holders ensure you're always ready to get the digits of your next crush. If the storage options inside weren't enough, there's another zippered pocket on the back of the bag.

I only wish this fashion-forward purse came in some more inspiring colors. Black, mocha, aubergine, and sage are sophisticated but a little too sensible for many tastes. Some more original choices, like bright blue or orange, would have made all the difference.

Rampage is a typically affordable handbag brand but one that sometimes doesn't quite hit the mark for my personal taste. The pretty Michelle clutch is one of their styles that I can applaud, whereas the Amber tote is a bit too much like a circus tent for me.

That's why I was somewhat surprised to find this Hazel Hobo within a list of recent Rampage releases. Although I'm not sure what brands I might have placed it with, Rampage definitely would not have been one of them. There's a unique design sensibility to the Hazel that stands out as somehow both simple yet detailed.

Though certainly not the only color combination available, this light gray with brown is so appealing in its subtlety really allowing the details on the front to stand out. The quilted stitching on the synthetic leather is accentuated by the thin patent strips woven throughout. I was very disappointed to find that the interesting woven detail is not continued on the back of the hobo bag, but at least the quilting is repeated instead of having a plain back.

The opening of the purse closes with a magnetic snap, but there's also a functional drawstring that loops through the top of the hobo and allows you to cinch in the sides for either a little extra security or just a different shape. This Rampage Hazel bag retails for $98.

The Lady Dior line may grab all the headlines, but for something a little different I'd opt for this Karenina Tote.

The lush aged lambskin falls in intricate pleats down the length of the bag. The leather is lovely, but that super-ruched appearance is sure to divide fashion fans. I suppose no one gets noticed without taking risks, right? At least Christian Dior keeps the branding to a minimum, with "CD" letter charms providing the only bit of bling. They still make the bag look a little cluttered for my tastes, so thankfully they're removable.

The head-turning design combines with the large interior to create a bag ready to transition from day to night. If only all that space was utilized. There's a large zippered envelope in the center, but I worry about the security of the open compartments either side. There are slip pockets for gadgets but, without clasps or closures to keep them safe, would you trust them with your cell? The natural impulse is to stuff everything inside the zippered pouch, which is a great shame. There's no point offering extra storage space if no one feels comfortable using it.

The handles are another practical drawback. Those short, rolled handles are very cute, but their appeal is sure to wear off when you've been lugging a full Karenina around the city for hours. A longer shoulder strap may have undermined the looks, but I'd be willing to sacrifice that style for comfort.

This framed tote has already become a favourite with style pioneers like Christina Aguilera, Denise Richards, and Sienna Miller. And at $2,450, they might be the only ones that can afford it!

While recently flipping through my fresh-from-the-mailbox edition of Lucky magazine, I was excited to find a section about a new fashion collaboration between the brains behind the magazine and the budget-conscious folks at HSN.

Lucky enlisted the help of seven fabulous designers to create exclusive but affordable pieces for a special capsule collection. From jewelry to clothing and handbags, this group of fashion geniuses put together several great outfits.

The list of designers includes Rebecca Taylor, Shoshanna, Tracy Reese, Helen Ficalora, Gerard Yosca, and familiar bag names Rebecca Minkoff and Abbe Held from Kooba. The handbags from Minkoff and Kooba are all stylish, unique, and exactly what I'd expect from the two brands with a mix of croco-embossed leather, studs, and patent material.

The items will be available only through HSN and at Lucky's signature shopping party Lucky Shops in New York City on November 6 and 7. The Lucky Shops: Designer Event is scheduled to air on HSN on October 16 from 8-10 pm (ET) and on October 17 from 8-10 am (ET).

All of the designers will be at the HSN airing along with Lucky's senior editor discussing their items, inspiration, and styling tips.

Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor is one lucky lady. Her Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna co-star Salman Khan recently gave her a luxurious Dolce & Gabbana handbag!

The pair recently indulged in a little shopping during a break in filming in Australia. Kareena fell for the designer bag, and Salman was only too happy to oblige!

"Kareena would usually land up shopping in the evenings after the shoot in Australia. She would go alone. But on one occasion, Salman accompanied her too," said a unit source.

"She instantly liked a Dolce and Gabbana bag, stepped in and bought it. When she was about to pay the storekeeper refused to take the money saying it had already been paid for. Kareena stood zapped and wondered who could be that generous soul. It was only later that she got to know that it was Salman who had paid."

I'm impressed by Salman's generosity, but I wonder whether Kareena's long-term boyfriend Saif Ali Khan feels the same way!

Comme des Garçons has come together with Apple Corps Ltd. for a rocking handbag collection. The London-based firm that manages the legacy and musical catalog of The Beatles has approved a purse line paying homage to the iconic British band.

Apple Corps Ltd. has signed a long-term deal with Comme des Garçons, so it seems likely that company head Rei Kawakubo will release other Beatles fashion items in the coming months.

It's a smart move for the Japanese fashion label, with The Beatles albums still selling truckloads long after the band called it quits. When you think of key figures in rock and roll history, they don't come much bigger than The Beatles.

The first purse styles are scheduled to hit Dover Street Market in London and Gyre in Tokyo in the middle of November. The bags will then be rolled out into other markets after that. Details are scarce at the moment, but with Comme des Garçons behind the line I'm not expecting the Beatles bags to be cheap!
